The Driftwood Resort is situated on Houghton Lake which is located in the middle of Michigan's lower peninsula. It is Michigan's largest inland lake comprising of 22,000 acres of sandy bottom water and numerous weed beds supporting various species of fish including Pike, Walleye, Bluegill and Perch. The sandy bottom and shallow water depth at our shoreline is ideally suited for young children.
Our resort is located on the quiet North Shore of the lake, yet still convenient to the numerous national retail stores and restaurants which are open year round for your shopping pleasure.
Houghton Lake offers plenty of attractions geared towards the year round enthusiast. Spring and summer recreation activities include fishing, sailing, golf and canoeing, while the fall and winter enthusiast can enjoy ice fishing, snowmobiling and hunting. The annual Tip-UP Town, USA winter festival occurs every year on the 3rd and 4th weekends in January. There are games and fishing contests for the entire family to enjoy.
Driftwood finally given the all clear to open! Summer is finally here. Time to plan that great vacation at the Driftwood Resort.
Our new ACE's Perch recreational building is great success! It offers indoor activities like ping-pong, air hockey, darts, board games. A great place to relax after a day by the lake.
Our newest and largest cottage (Timber) is very popular with large families. It features 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, can sleep 8-10 people and is adjacent to the new Ace's Perch recreation building.
